- Perfect for doors, window frames & furniture
Rustins White Primer is an oil-based primer that is recommended for use when white or light pastel shades of finish are being applied.
Ideal for interior and exterior use on bare wood surfaces, including doors, window frames, tables and chairs. Seals the surface and provides adhesion for subsequent coats of paint.
During preparation, wooden surfaces to be primed must be dry, clean, smooth and free from dust, oil, grease, wax and other contaminants likely to affect adhesion. All knots should be sealed with Rustin’s Knotting before priming.
The first coat may be thinned with 10 per cent white spirit if necessary. After priming, holes and cracks may be filled with Rustin’s Wood Filler.
Apply one or two coats, depending on requirements. The primer is touch dry within 2-4 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
Allow to dry for 12 hours or overnight before applying undercoat. Do not use below 10°C, or in conditions of high humidity.
Coverage is 3.75 sq metres per tin per coat, depending on the absorbency of the surface.
Rustins White Primer is sold in 250ml, 500ml and 1L containers.
